Day +2

Henry Really enjoying his blow-by oxygen. :) At 3am
He woke up really really happy this morning, the pain meds finally kicking in, and wanted to help the nurse take vital signs. He figured out how to use the stethascope on his own...

And apply coband to his pulseox monitor. :) A genius I know!

I was so excited to see him happy and active!
However it didn't last long. By the afternoon he was miserable again and with a morphine drip going and two extra morphine bolis' he was still crying! I feel like there should be a rule as to how many things you have to endure at one time. Spinal fractures, bloating due to excess fluids, constipation, and on top of all that... the slow process of engraftment.. that causes mucositis...bad GI pains. We're working on getting the morphine drip increased. The whole process of equalizing pain relief and awakeness is a bit tedious. But he still has wonderful moments like this! I'm so grateful to be with him for the good moments.
